Missing Sam Kinison

As many of you know, we lost comedian Sam Kinisoncould have done with Supreme Court Justice Clarence
in an automobile accident back in 1992. For those ofThomas and Anita Hill, President Clinton and Monica
you who do not remember him, Sam was describedLewinsky, Drummer Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson,
as a "heavy metal" comedian who was well knownAnna Nicole Smith and Paris Hilton. But Sam's humor
for being raunchy and irreverent. Interestingly, prior towas not confined to sex, I would have loved to have
becoming a comedian he was an ordainedheard his take on Bill Gates and Windows, Steve Jobs
Pentecostal Minister. But he was better known for hisand the iPod, the Internet, the Taliban, Al Qaeda and
shock-rock humor who made biting commentaries ofOsama bin Laden, Iraq and Saddam Hussein,
our time. It seemed nobody was spared, but hisimmigration, and on and on. Unfortunately, Sam missed
favorite targets were Rev. Jim Bakker of the PTLa period of time which would have given him more

truth and wisdom in his comedy, and this is whatintolerance and ridicule is deserved; that maybe we
ultimately endeared him to the public. Many didn'tshouldn't just sit back and accept the status quo and
understand how a former minister could be so vulgar,instead we should speak up and voice our displeasure,
but as for me, I clearly understood what he was tryingand; that perhaps we take ourselves way too
to tell us.seriously.
What is sad is that Sam was cut down just as theSo, Yes, I miss Sam, not just for how he ranted and
times were changing and we needed his biting humorraved, but more importantly, what he was trying to tell
more than ever. Had Sam survived, imagine what heus.
